Privacy Policy
Your trust matters. This policy explains what Gogy collects when you use Gay Chat, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you stay in control.

1. Who we are
Gogy (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates Gay Chat — a dating platform for gay men aged 18+ — through this website (gydate.com) and the Android application published as Gay Chat — Chat & Connect (package com.gogy.app). By creating an account or using Gay Chat, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
This website is a public information page. It does not create an account and does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The app is where personal data is collected, as described below.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Google Sign-In: Google account ID, display name, email address, and profile photo URL, as permitted by Google OAuth. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Profile: name you choose to show, age, bio, country, state, city, photos, premium status, and related account flags (for example verification or deletion state).
- Location: the country, state, and city you enter. If you grant location permission, we also store approximate coordinates (latitude and longitude at low accuracy) so we can show people near you. You can refuse permission; discovery then relies on the city you typed.
- Messages: text, images you send in chat, timestamps, read receipts, and chat metadata (participants, last message).
- Video calls: call IDs, participant IDs, status, and timestamps needed to connect the call. Live video and audio go through our calling provider. We do not record video or audio on our servers.
- Usage and device: online / last-seen status, device type, app version, IP address, and push-notification tokens (FCM) so we can deliver message and incoming-call alerts.
- Payments: Google Play (and, where used, Stripe) confirm whether a subscription is active. We store entitlement status and product identifiers. We do not store full card numbers.
- Analytics: Firebase Analytics events such as screen views, sign-in, and purchases. We attach a user ID, premium flag, country, and platform. We do not put names, emails, messages, or photos into analytics event parameters.
- Advertising (non-premium): Google AdMob may receive a device advertising identifier and standard ad-request data to fill banner and rewarded ads. Premium users do not see these ads.
- Photos you upload: profile and chat images are sent to servers we operate. We re-encode them to JPEG and strip embedded metadata (such as EXIF) before storing a public URL on your profile or in the chat.
- On-device checks: before a profile photo is uploaded, the app may run face-presence and sensitive-content checks on your device. Those model results are used locally to accept or reject the photo; the raw photo is not sent to a separate moderation vendor.
- App lock: if you enable biometric / device-credential lock, that setting stays on your phone. We do not receive your fingerprint, face template, or PIN.
- Referrals: if you open an invite link, we associate the referral code with your new account so both of you can receive the reward.
3. How we use your information
We use your data to:
- Create and manage your account and profile.
- Enable discovery, chat, push notifications, and video calling.
- Show approximate distance / nearby people when location is available.
- Process premium subscriptions and prevent payment fraud.
- Show ads to non-premium users, or rewarded ads you choose to watch.
- Understand product usage (aggregated analytics) and keep the app reliable.
- Enforce Community Guidelines, handle reports, and protect users.
- Respond to support requests and comply with law.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to data brokers.
4. Google API Services (Limited Use)
Gay Chat’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google Sign-In data to authenticate you and to pre-fill profile fields you can edit. We do not use that Google data for ads, and we do not transfer it except as needed to provide the feature you requested, for security, or as required by law.
5. Advertising
If you are not subscribed to Premium, the Android app shows Google AdMob banner ads and may offer rewarded video ads (for example extra chats or profile views). AdMob is operated by Google and may use cookies or advertising IDs as described in Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
You can reset or opt out of ads personalization in your device settings (Google → Ads). Subscribing to Premium removes AdMob placements in the app.
7. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules, API access controls, and screenshot blocking in sensitive screens. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account is compromised, email support@gydate.com immediately.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain data while your account is active. After you delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by emailing us, we remove profile, photos, and messages within 30 days. Backup copies and legal holds may last longer where the law requires it. Push tokens and analytics identifiers are cleared or detached when the account is deleted.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act and, where applicable, GDPR-style laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, withdraw consent, or complain to a regulator. Email support@gydate.com with subject line Privacy Request — [your Gay Chat email]. We aim to respond within 30 days.
You can also edit your profile in the app, revoke Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions, disable location in system settings, and turn off notifications in the app or OS.
10. International processing
We and our processors (including Google and Agora) may process data on servers outside your country. By using Gay Chat you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations with appropriate contractual and technical safeguards.
11. Children
Gay Chat is strictly for adults aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it. Report suspected underage users to support@gydate.com.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where required, in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
